MRCP (UK) exam
The MRCP (UK) Diploma and Professional Certificate exams are designed to test the skills, knowledge and behaviour of doctors in training. It is divided into three parts:
·RCP (UK) Part 1
·MRCP (UK) Part 2 Written
·MRCP (UK) Part 2 Clinical (Pace).
You will need to successfully complete the entire three-part exam before you can start your specialist internal medicine training in the UK. As part of the UK Postgraduate Medical Training Programme, all MRCP (UK) and Professional Certificate exams are approved by the UK Medical Council (GMC) and follow UK curricula and guidelines
Is the MRCP difficult to pass?
The MRCP (UK) exam is assessed on candidates’ basic science and clinical skills. To pass this exam, advanced practical knowledge of applied basic science and medical principles is required. As a result, MRCP is difficult; no doubt about it.

How many people fail the MRCP?
Only a handful of candidates try PACES between 12 and 24 months after graduation, and they’re unlikely to pass. Increase the pass rate to over 60% for candidates who delay trying to graduate 24 to 36 months, compared to 77% for those who wait 36 to 48 months
